Government telecom company bsnl (Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited) has made important changes in its popular Rs 197 prepaid plan. This update is also visible on the company's official website and it has been introduced with the aim of improving user experience and increasing revenue.
How was BSNL's Rs 197 plan earlier?
In the old plan, users used to get 2GB data per day, unlimited calling and 100 SMS daily. However, these main benefits were limited to the first 15 days only. But the validity of the entire plan was 70 days, which proved beneficial for those who wanted to keep the secondary SIM or low-use number active.
How has this plan become now?
BSNL has changed the entire structure of this plan. Now users will get it.
4GB data (total)
300 minutes of voice calling
100 SMS (total)
54 days validity
That is, now you will get lump sum benefits instead of daily benefits which will be valid for the entire 54 days. This will benefit those users whose data and calling usage is very limited but they want their SIM to remain active for a long time.
What does BSNL's strategy say?
This change is part of BSNL's comprehensive strategy under which it wants to improve its ARPU (Average Revenue Per User) and attract different user segments. Especially when the company is rapidly expanding its 4G service across the country.
