There was a time when during Trump's first term,
apple CEO Tim Cook was considered the mastermind of trade relations between America and China. He built strong relations with the
trump administration and did not distance himself from Beijing. The result was that
apple avoided American taxes and continued to grow in China. But the situation has changed in Trump's second term. Now Apple's crown has been worn by Nvidia and its CEO Jensen Huang is being seen as America's most influential tech
leader today. Nvidia's
success in the world of AI has made Huang not just a
businessman but a global political face.
The power of AI and the rise of Huang
Wedbush analyst Dan Ives says, "The role of Nvidia's chips in the AI revolution has put Huang far ahead of Tim Cook." He believes that today the main chip powering AI in the entire world is only from Nvidia. Recently, Huang visited Beijing, where he announced the resumption of sales of Nvidia's H20 AI chip.
The sale of these chips to
china was banned earlier this year, but Huang openly opposed it and lobbied against it. His efforts paid off and now the US has relaxed this decision.
Increasing dominance in politics
This historic
victory makes it clear that Huang's influence on the
trump administration is increasing. Before leaving for
china, he had met
trump in Washington DC. The result of his influence was that the ban on the H20 chip was relaxed. According to experts, Huang explained to the US administration that banning the chip could weaken America's technological edge and Chinese companies would benefit from it.
Nvidia has also recently struck a deal to supply hundreds of thousands of AI chips to the UAE, in which Huang played an important role along with Trump. This deal strengthens America's global tech leadership, especially in comparison to Chinese companies like Huawei.
Tim Cook and Musk lagged behind
Earlier it was believed that Elon Musk would be the closest tech
leader to the administration in Trump's second term, but his relationship with
trump is no longer that cordial. Tim Cook is now facing criticism from the administration, especially on
apple starting manufacturing units in India.
Trump administration advisor Peter Navarro recently criticized Cook, saying that he is too slow in removing manufacturing from China. Cook and
apple, who were once considered the most influential, now seem to be lagging behind in the political field.
