Megastar chiru reportedly criticised the media for commenting negatively about the Godfather movie's publicity and for asserting that there was little hype about the film prior to its premiere. He claimed that the media caused them annoyance and disruption as if they (the producers) didn't know how to market a movie or how to deliver an engaging result. Although chiru later commended the media for awarding the Godfather a 3 to 3.5 on a 5-point scale, one has to wonder why he lost his cool.
There is a rumour going around that several distributors contacted chiranjeevi prior to the film's release and informed him that they were not advertising the movie and that it had no buzz to attract audiences. At the same time, some of his close friends are alleged to have given him guidance on how to handle online buzz and social media for movies. All of these things are claimed to have offended chiranjeevi, who doesn't want to remain silent about them since he doesn't want unskilled people giving him advice on how to make and release a movie.
Some claim that chiranjeevi did nothing more than use this as a way to vent his anger indirectly over other issues like the Garikapati situation and the negative comments around acharya and its outcome. However, the hype surrounding Godfather only began to build after Chiranjeevi's soggy address from Rayalaseema, and the film's favourable post-release reviews contributed to this.
