The ttd board and the ap government have lately come under fire for the poor food provisions at the ttd Annadana Satram in Tirupati. This infuriated the ttd board's actions under the ycp rule. The ttd is once again under fire, this time in the ap High Court. The court chastised the ttd board for authorizing a municipal project in Tirupati. It all started when former ttd board member bhanu Prakash reddy submitted a complaint about the abuse of ttd finances.

In addition, the tirupati Municipality announced that Rs 50 crores was being spent in the town on garbage collection and management. The ttd then adopted a bill stating that the board is willing to invest Rs 100 crores in trash management in Tirupati. The HC criticized the law and ruled that ttd monies could not be misappropriated.

The court said unequivocally that garbage management and clean-up efforts in tirupati shall be carried out with tirupati Municipality monies, not ttd funds. The court also questioned the substance of the bill, since the ttd proposed spending 100 crores on an unrelated activity that would have cost just Rs 50 crore anyhow.

The HC was perplexed as to why and how the ttd could accept a bill of Rs 100 crores for anything unrelated to the Devasthanam. The court questioned the ttd board, asking, "How can you divert the money presented by the public at tirumala shrine to some municipal activity?" The court issued an interim order requesting that ttd not release the monies.
