Lokesh Kanagaraj's action film has sold the most advance tickets of the year, despite all the uncertainty surrounding Vijay's Leo's release in the telugu states and its early showing in tamil Nadu. According to Sacnilk, Leo may sell 20 lakh tickets before the opening day, having already sold 16 lakh.

In the process, the number of advance ticket sales for Vijay's Leo has surpassed that of Shah Rukh Khan's Jawan, which debuted last month and is now the top-grossing hindi film in India. For its opening day, Jawan had sold 15.75 lakh seats in advance. The telugu and hindi versions of Leo have sold 20,000 and 2.10 lakh tickets, respectively, while the tamil version has sold 13.75 lakh seats.

But even so, Leo's earnings are still less than Jawan's. Although Jawan's film has made ₹41 crore through advance bookings, Lokesh's film has only made ₹31 crore thus far. This discrepancy can be attributed to the two films' different average ticket prices. On the first day of sales, Jawan's average ticket price was ₹251, while Leo's was ₹202.

Another obstacle for Leo is that in tamil Nadu, its primary target state, the madras high court has permitted its earliest programme to begin at 7 AM instead of 4 AM, as the producers had sought. Because the film runs for two hours and forty-three minutes, there may only be five screenings in a day, from 9 AM to 1:30 AM. Additionally, there is a 20-minute necessary pause and 40 minutes for cleaning the theatre after each show.
