US Secretary of State Antony Blinken accused Hamas for the termination of the Gaza truce on Saturday, saying the Palestinian terrorist group "reneged on the commitments" it made to release "certain hostages."

Blinken also stated that Hamas "committed an atrocious terrorist attack in Jerusalem" to media after attending the COP28 in Dubai. His remark was to a shooting incident by Palestinian militants on a bus stop in Jerusalem on Thursday, which killed three Israelis and injured eight more. Later, Hamas claimed responsibility for the incident in a statement.

According to the US Secretary of State, Hamas launched missiles into israel on Friday. The Israeli military also claimed the Gaza Strip launching around 50 rockets into border communities in the southern coastal city of Ashdod.

According to Reuters, US Defence Secretary Lloyd Austin reiterated Blinken, saying that the US will continue to cooperate with israel and mediators egypt and qatar on "efforts to re-implement the pause."

Qatar, which has been a crucial mediator in the Israel-Hamas truce in Gaza, has stated that attempts to restore the truce are still ongoing. However, further Israeli assaults in Gaza might exacerbate the situation. israel has also accused Hamas for the abrupt conclusion of the seven-day Gaza truce on Friday.
