The pre-release ceremonies for megastar Chiranjeevi's Waltair Veerayya and Nandamuri Balakrishna's Veera simha Reddy were lavishly organised in Andhra Pradesh. We have all witnessed how Jagan's administration hounded the directors of both movies to approve these events. Due to the fact that both balakrishna and jagan belong to competing political parties, their animosity is clear. Even Chiranjeevi's attempts to win over jagan failed, and only after several obstacles was Waltair Veerayya's pre-release event approved.

Everyone therefore questioned why the activities were not planned in hyderabad, where everything would have gone more smoothly. The pre-release ceremony for chiranjeevi was held in hyderabad (Nizam), whereas the event for GodFather was held in Anantapur (Rayalseema). vizag was picked since it is part of uttarandhra because chiru wanted to cover all telugu states.

It was Gopichandh Malineni's request that the pre-release ceremony for Veer simha Reddy be held in his hometown of Ongole because it is the director's biggest film. Therefore, they went ahead and held the events in andhra pradesh even though they were aware that Jagan's administration would make things difficult for the creators of both films and it might even spark some controversy.
