Nine months may have passed since that horrific murder in the narrow lanes of Karol Bagh, delhi, but the Crime Branch of delhi Police has shown that the law has a long reach. Farooq, the main accused who was absconding in the daylight murder and robbery of bullion trader Pratap Jadhav in Karol Bagh, delhi, was finally caught from Pune, Maharashtra.

Farooq is a resident of Tikota village in Vijaypur district of Karnataka. After the incident, he changed his identity, whereabouts and life. Farooq, who once worked as a carpenter, was hiding himself by becoming a loader in a transport company in Pune.

On the afternoon of 26 July 2023, there was chaos in Birampura area of Karol Bagh. A blood-soaked body was recovered from lane number 20. He was a reputed bullion trader of the area. He was stabbed multiple times with a knife. The attackers were trying to loot cash and gold after committing the crime, but Pratap fought bravely. The resistance was the reason for his death.

Investigation revealed that this was not just a robbery, but a well-planned conspiracy. Accused Sudeep, Mehboob, Arun, Ganesh and Farooq had carried out this crime together. Four accused had already been arrested, but Farooq was out of custody. delhi Police had announced a reward of 50 thousand on him.

The crime branch team tried every weapon from social media to technical surveillance in search of Farooq. The sharp eye of Head Constable Sudhir and Constable naveen confirmed Farooq's possible location from a social media post. Finally, under a secret operation in Pune, SI Samrat Khatiyan, Inspector vivek Malik and their team surrounded and arrested Farooq. After being caught, Farooq confessed his crimes. He told that after the incident, he fled from karnataka to maharashtra and started working as a labourer by hiding his identity.
