After the terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, the indian government is in no mood to spare pakistan under any circumstances. The government has taken strict decisions against those with nefarious intentions. In the CCS meeting chaired by PM Modi on Wednesday, five major decisions have been taken, including stopping the indus river Water Treaty. After which a meeting of the NSC was called in pakistan the next day i.e. tomorrow (Thursday).

In response to india closing the Attari wagah border in pakistan, the wagah border was announced to be closed. At the same time, pakistan has also asked all indians to leave pakistan and go to their country by april 30. Apart from this, pakistan also says that if india stops the water of the indus river, it will be considered an Act of War. But what is this Act of War? Let us know a little about this.

What is an Act of War?

It is said that everything is justified in war, but it is not so. After the Second World war, a convention was held in Geneva. Rules were made in this convention regarding war. Let's know about them.

The Second World war lasted from 1939 to 1945, in which more than five crore people died. For the first time, the atomic bomb was used in this war. There was so much destruction that the heads of state of many countries around the world together decided the rules of war in the Geneva Convention in 1949.

These rules explained how the war would be fought and who could be attacked in the war. Which weapons would be used in the war and what things would be targeted. This is called the Law of War.

During this convention, 161 rules have been made and these have been recognized by 196 countries. All these countries are bound to follow these rules. These rules will apply only when a war is being fought between two or more countries with the help of weapons.

Breaking the rules is a war crime
No country can attack another country without warning. The country itself is responsible for evacuating people from war-affected areas. In such a situation, civilians cannot be stopped from going there. Military bases can be targeted during war. But if the enemy country's army surrenders during the war, then it will be treated humanely. Prisoners of war must also be treated humanely. According to the Law of war, if a country violates these rules, then it will be considered a war crime and a case is filed against that country in the international court of Justice according to Chapter 44 of the Law.
