India registered 39,742 new coronavirus cases in the previous 24 hours on sunday morning, bringing the country's total to 3,13,71,901 since the epidemic began in january 2020. The total was up 1.64 percent from the 39,097 instances reported the day before.

The death toll increased by 535 people to 4,20,551. The number of open cases has decreased by 765 to 4,08,212. So far, a total of 3,05,43,138 people have recovered from the condition.
