According to Chief Electoral Officer Vikas Raj, alcohol sales are forbidden throughout the State for 48 hours, starting at 5 p.m. on saturday and ending at 5 p.m. on Monday. According to him, alcohol sales are also forbidden on june 4, which is the day of the vote count and, if necessary, on the day of the re-election.
 
In the orders released on Friday, the Special Chief Secretary (Prohibition and Excise) stated that he had been asked to give directives to the relevant parties to take the necessary actions to halt the illicit flow of alcohol and strictly adhere to the change in the "Hours of Poll" at the designated Parliamentary or assembly constituencies in the State for the implementation of "Dry Day."
 

Former minister and BRS mla G jagadish reddy emphasised that the BRS held the key to the safe future of the State, saying that the lok sabha elections had turned into a question of life and death for the people of Telangana. He predicted the BRS will win by double digits in the lok sabha polls and added that the congress and the bjp had an unspoken agreement to beat the BRS again.
