Kodela Siva Prasada Rao is the Senior TDP leader was elected from Narsaraopet Segment 5 consecutive times as MLA. Since last two elections in 2004 and 2009, he lost the election to Kasu Krishna Reddy. TDP cadre was scattered in the segment after standing twice in opposition. Co-operative Society elections and Village Panchayat Elections in the district bring back the party cadre united.
Kodela had worked as Key Portfolio like Home Minister during late NTR era. Congress MLA Vangaveeti Ranga was murdered in Vijayawada during his time. CID named Kodela as Accused 3 in Ranga Murder case. He is very good and obedient party worker to TDP. He never changed the party during 3 decades of his political career. Narsaraopet is the combination of Kamma and Reddy community. Reportedly, YSRCP targeted Kodela and invited him to join in YSRCP.
As per political buzz, Kodela Siva Prasad Rao seeks to change the constituency in 2014 elections. Some TDP hold mandals shifted to Sattenapalli segment during the delimitation in 2009 elections. This is one of the reasons for the lost of Kodela in the election. CBN has left the option to Kodela himself to select the segment. Reportedly, Kodela has very good relations too in Sattenapalli and he continued in maintaining the relations with party cadre. From YSRCP there are three contenders for Sattenapalli. It’s spokesperson Ambati Rambabu is one of them. CBN has decided to give Narsarao Pet segment to BC candidate if Kodela will shift to Sattenapalli.
