The supreme court has stayed the decision of the high court in the teacher recruitment case in West Bengal. The court said that the recruitments will not be canceled. Along with this, the supreme court has asked to continue the cbi investigation.

The court called the case a systemic fraud

The supreme court has stayed the decision of the calcutta high court to cancel the recruitment of bengal teachers. The supreme court has called the case a systemic fraud. The supreme court said that the cbi will continue the investigation of those candidates who were appointed without shortlisting. Along with this, no action will be taken against the candidates or government officials.

Along with the relief, the court has also reprimanded. The supreme court said that this is a well-planned fraud. This will make people lose faith. In the bengal teacher recruitment scam, a bench of Chief Justice DY Chandrachud, Justice jb Pardiwala and Justice manoj mishra is hearing the case.

What is the teacher recruitment scam?

When SSC issued the notification for this recruitment in 2014, Partha Chatterjee was the education Minister. The recruitment process started in 2016. Many applicants had filed a petition in the high court alleging rigging in the recruitment process. After this, in 2022, the high court handed over its investigation to the CBI. Later the ED investigated and arrested Partha Chatterjee on the angle of money laundering.

The petitioners had alleged that candidates who had low marks were placed higher in the merit list. There were also some complaints in which it was said that some candidates got the job even though their names were not in the merit list.
