Lok Sabha elections came in the year 2019 and bharatiya janata party decided to field Kishan Kapoor to contest the lok sabha elections. After this, Kishan Kapoor contested the mp election and won and reached Delhi. When Kishan Kapoor contested the elections, he was handling the civil and food supplies department in the then Jairam government.
BJP's vishal Nehriya wins in by-election
After Kishan Kapoor won the mp election, he resigned from the post of MLA. After this the Dharamshala seat became vacant. By-elections were held in Dharamshala in the year 2019 and bharatiya janata party fielded youth leader vishal Nehriya. Due to health reasons Sudhir Sharma could not contest the by-election.
In such a situation, the party made Vijay Inder Karna its candidate in his place, but in this by-election, Vijay Karna suffered a crushing defeat and vishal Nehariya won the election. In the 2019 Dharamshala by-election, the deposit of congress candidate Vijay Inder Karna was confiscated. The congress candidate could not even get one-sixth of the total 52 thousand 939 votes. bjp had won the Dharamshala by-election by 6 thousand 758 votes.
