Kerala announced a lockdown in the state from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. starting from May 8 against the backdrop of a strong second wave. The announcement was made by the Chief Minister's Office. It was reported yesterday that Covid-19 was to blame for 58 deaths in the last few days. This takes the cumulative number of people who have died to 5565.
