Simu Liu responds to the news that Avengers: The Kang Dynasty will be directed by Shang-Chi and the legend of the Ten Rings filmmaker Destin Daniel Cretton. During Kevin Feige's Hall H panel at the 2019 San Diego Comic-Con, Marvel Studios revealed their post-Infinity Saga plans. This included the affirmation of the Shang-Chi and the legend of the Ten Rings movie, which was led by Cretton and introduced Liu as the lead role.

Both Liu and Cretton are slated to play significant roles in the Multiverse Saga of the MCU three years after their initial entry into the franchise. Liu will continue to play Shang-Chi, and a Shang-Chi sequel is already assured, but there is no set timetable for its release. Furthermore, Cretton is currently working on Shang-Chi 2, which will bring him back together with Liu, while also creating a Wonder Man series for Disney+. In addition, he has been confirmed to helm Avengers 5, which is officially titled The Kang Dynasty, making him one of the most significant directors in this new era of Marvel Studios narrative.

Liu celebrated Cretton's most recent accomplishment on his official account in the wake of this news. In his post, he reflects on their first Comic-Con experience and how they felt overwhelmed by all the well-known celebs. Currently, Destin is getting ready to helm one of the MCU's biggest forthcoming movies.
