Market price higher than govt support price in Udaipur?

The government issues support prices to give fair prices to farmers for their crops. Many times politics is seen taking place regarding this. It is said that the support price should be increased. Similar situation is happening in udaipur division. Farmers are getting more for their crops in the market than the support price. For this reason, farmers are turning towards the market and not government prices. The big thing is that the crop has arrived in the market and procurement at support price has not started yet.

What do farmers say?

Vishnu Patel, a farmer from udaipur, said that first of all, the government has not started a procurement center for the crops taken at support price. That means the government is not making purchases right now. While the crop has reached the market. Secondly, this time the crops are getting good prices in the market. For example, the support price of wheat is Rs 2400. Whereas the price available in the market is Rs 2500 to Rs 3000. Therefore, instead of waiting for the opening of support price centres, farmers are selling their crops in the market itself. Not only this, at some places traders are directly contacting farmers in the fields and purchasing crops.

Tender process for crops but tenders did not come

Rajsamand's Rajfed Regional Officer VN Singh has informed the media that a tender was floated for the purchase of gram and mustard but the tenders did not come. Now again the recommendation will be sent to jaipur through the committee. The procurement will start as soon as permission is received from there. Actually, farmers had reached some centers for gram and mustard but had to return. Talking about the condition of crops, this time the crop has been better than last time. Even though bumpers have arrived, the prices are also good.
