Madhu shared a memory related to the sets of this film in siddharth Kanan's show. He said, 'My co-star in Phool Aur Kaante was ajay Devgan and it took time for me to become friends with him. He has been a very quiet and solitary person. He liked his comfort zone and during that time he would sometimes read magazines and sometimes read books.
The actress further said, 'He liked to remain calm but I used to do something naughty to prove myself. I was also afraid of him, initially I thought this man was so strange. Since the film was his father's, I felt that I might make some mistake which might take the film out of my hands.
The actress further said that the entire film was made in this manner. After this he got a chance to do 'Diljale' and during that time he understood Ajay's nature. They came to know that ajay Devgan socializes only with those who are his friends or with whom he has met for some time. Both of them became good friends after the film Phool Aur Kaante and the film Diljale (1994).
