The first lok sabha elections in the country were held in 1952. In this lok sabha election, atal bihari vajpayee was a candidate from lucknow seat, but he had to face defeat in this election. He was the leader of Bharatiya Jana Sangh. The congress candidate had won the lucknow seat in that election. After the elections of the first lok sabha, the elections of the second lok sabha came in 1957. In those days, the name of atal bihari vajpayee was included among the big youth leaders of Jan Sangh. In such a situation, the party wanted him to approach parliament after winning the lok sabha elections. In this sequence, he was made the party's candidate from three lok sabha seats. He was once again fielded from the lucknow seat. Besides, he was also made a candidate from Balrampur and Mathura.
