In certain countries worldwide, the government actively encourages settlement by offering financial incentives, providing a unique perspective on the concept of home. Notably, Italy's town of Presicce has implemented a program where the government grants approximately Rs 25 lakh to individuals willing to establish residences. This initiative aims to address a declining population, particularly among the elderly.

Another intriguing location is the Greek island of Antikythera, where residents can receive Rs 50,000 per month for three years, fostering a potential influx to counter the island's current population of around 50 people. Switzerland, celebrated for its scenic beauty, has an initiative in the village of Albinen. Individuals under 45 years receive Rs 20 lakh, couples get Rs 40 lakh, and an additional Rs 8 lakh per child to settle in the village, with the stipulation of a ten-year commitment. Meanwhile, Alaska in the united states offers a unique proposition due to its cold climate.

The government provides around Rs 1.5 lakh per year to residents, with the condition that they stay for a minimum of one year. These programs, designed to address specific challenges such as population decline or extreme weather conditions, showcase the innovative ways governments incentivize settlement to enhance local communities.
