Taraka Ratna was born to Nandamuri Mohanakrishna and Sita on january 8, 1983 in Chennai. The Mohanakrishnas only have one son, Tarak. The late iconic actor Sr. NTR's son Mohanakrishna worked as the cinematographer for some of the NTR-produced movies. When he was a little boy, he had a strong interest in acting.
After completing his seventh grade studies in Chennai, tarak Ratna attended Bharatiya vidya Bhavan in Jubilee Hills, hyderabad, for his high school education. He studied B Tech at Vignan Engineering college in hyderabad after completing his intermediate schooling at Vignan college in Guntur. One of the actors from the Nandamuri family is Nandamuri Taraka Ratna.
He is the great-grandson of the late famed actor and former chief minister of the state of andhra pradesh, N.T. Rama Rao. He was junior NTR's, kalyan Ram's, and lokesh Nara's cousin.
