In the Shraddha Walker murder case, narco deception detection test has been used to extract the truth from the culprit Aftab. There are three types of procedures in this test.

You must have heard about narco test being done to know the evidence and truth in criminal cases, but do you know what things happen before or after doing this test. What is narco test and how many types are there and how helpful is it. Aftab Poonawala's pre narco test was done on 1 december 2022 and post narco test was done on 2 December.

Narco test

Narco test is also known as truth serum. It has been used earlier to solve important matters. In this test, a drug (such as sodium pentothal, scopolamine and sodium amytal) is given into the veins of the body. Through anesthesia, it causes the person taking it to enter different phases and his consciousness decreases. After taking this medicine, the person goes into a hypnotic state. The person becomes less self-conscious and more likely to reveal information that would not normally come to the fore in the conscious state.

The consent of the criminal is necessary before the narco test.

According to the supreme Court, narco analysis, brain mapping and polygraph test cannot be done without the consent of any criminal. Explain that the statements given during the narco test are not accepted as primary evidence in the court. 

Fitness test is done before narco test

Before the narco test, there is a fitness test of the criminal and there are pre-anesthetic tests like lungs, heart. During the narco test, a few tools are utilised to keep track of the subject's hypnotic state. The dosage of the substance to be injected is decided according to the gender, age, health and physical condition of the person. During the process of narco test, the pulse and blood pressure are continuously monitored. If the blood pressure or pulse drops, the accused is also given oxygen temporarily.

Attempts to extract the truth from the accused in a semi-conscious state. Efforts are made to get the investigating officer to reveal the truth to the criminal regarding the incident.
